6 Deadly Sins of Web Design

Posted June 4th @ 1:47 pm by Brett

ok we have heard them all before. Most of the lists a plain’ol common sense. Today I read a story in a local business magazine that was purely self promotion. So here is my take on the list, I’ll flesh out each one over the next week (or three).

So what are the ‘real’ deadly sins?

  1. forgetting business integration - how well does the site work with the way you do business?
  2. tainting the site with your personal opinion - the site isn’t for you! Wiseman once said: If you piss on it - it will stink
  3. failing to understand the target audience - there is NO!!! difference between your online and offline audiences
  4. selecting the wrong technology - have you just spent $50k on a site that could have been done for $5k?
  5. picking the wrong developer - look at the past projects of the developer
  6. not promoting your site - why build it with out telling people. Don’t rely on SEO!

I could write the 60 deadly sins of web development. So these are my six, which should cover the other 54. From branding to product distribution.
