DIY at YouTube

YouTubeThe number of Do-It-Yourself videos are quickly expanding. Here is an opportunity for a retailer or a FMCG to jump on board and produce how-to clips using their products. From the Cherry Co-Op offer recipes to Black and Decker.

I was thinking about this morning before seeing an article on a Google blog. I thinking that one of the most effect way to promote the benefits of a product is show it in use. I have horrid thoughts of after midnight advertorials. These need to be as close to real life as possible. Have some hen pecked hubby clearing trees in the backyard for the wifes new “day bed”.

“look how easy this chainsaw takes to this roast”. Insert some humor or useful facts it is sure to be a winner.  Graham  Kennedy made a career and a fortune from sending up products that he was advertising. Youtube have made it easy for companies to then add the content to their website.

But why stop at YouTube, what about Vodcasting? Marketers will soon be able to create thier own ‘cyber channels’ and
air their own programs.
